Earlier this week, President-elect Donald Trump tabbed Rep. Tom Price (R-Ga.) as his nominee as secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
An orthopedic surgeon before taking up politics, the 62-year-old Price has represented Georgia's 6th Congressional District north of Atlanta since 2004. His appointment must be approved by the Senate.
In a story published Wednesday by Employee Benefit Adviser, Plexus Partner Mitchell Andrews said the nomination of Price was a positive step.
"[H]e understands our national dilemma as a physician, as a business man and someone who has looked to reduce the cost of delivering healthcare," Andrews told EBA. “We, [the industry] look forward to working with Rep. Price on reducing the cost of healthcare so we can deliver more affordable/quality coverage to our clients, and all Americans."
