Is your financial service firm certified by a standard of excellence?

financial service firm
CEFEX (Centre for Fiduciary Excellence) is an independent body certifying a given financial service firm to a standard of excellence. And CEFEX has certified Plexus Financial Services, LLC to its fi360 standard, “Prudent Practices for Investment Advisors,” with PFS first earning the designation in 2012.

CEFEX-certification is an annually reviewed process; advisors have to be recertified each year. In short, a firm has to hold to the CEFEX standard after attaining it. A firm has to be committed to being a fiduciary –  and by extension, committed to looking out for retirement plan participants. Very few firms earn the CEFEX fi360 certification.

What does the CEFEX certification entail? According to CEFEX, such recognition is “an independent recognition of a firm’s conformity to a defined Standard of Practice. It implies that a firm can demonstrate adherence to the industry's best practices, and is positioned to earn the public's trust. This registration serves investors who require assurance that their investments are being managed according to commonly accepted best practices.”

Located in suburban Chicago, Plexus Financial Services is an independent, objective firm providing consulting expertise and advisory services to sponsors and participants of corporate retirement programs (401k, 403b, 457, DC, DB, NQ). A Registered Investment Adviser (RIA), Plexus Financial Services is a member of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC).
